    Bio-Note

    Presently working as Associate Professor at Centre for Folk Culture Studies, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad.

    Completed M.P. A. (Theatre Arts), and PhD in Theatre Studies from University of Hyderabad

    Started teaching Theatre from 1997 and directed several plays in Malayalam, Hindi, English and Telugu.

    Published Papers in Comparative drama, South Indian Folklorist, The Early Drama, Art and Music Review etc.

    Supervised Scholars for PhD and M.phil from various disciplines. And have 19 years of research and teaching experiences at the University level.

    Areas of Interest/Specialization

    Performance Studies; Folk Theatre in India; Public Performance and Discourse; Religion and Theatrical Practices.

     

    Awards & Honours

    Fulbright Fellowship in Theatre education at Illinois state university U.S.A (during Sep 2004 to march 2005) funded by IIE and USEFI.

    Junior Research Fellowship, Dept. of Culture, HRD Ministry, Govt. of India (2000 - 2002).

    Sax I Fund Fellowship 1999 – 2000, Warburg Institute, University of London,
