Bio-Note

Saumya Mittal has been involved with the arts since childhood, especially literature and dance, always searching for existing and new stories to tell in various art forms.She is currently pursuing her Masters in English literature and has completed her graduation in the same from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She has also been training in Kathak for the past several years.

Saumya wishes to link her two passions, namely literature and dance, and explore how these fields function in tandem with and influence each other. She is also interested in pursuing an in-depth comparative study of world mythology vis-a-vis its Indian counterpart.Performance studies with respect to classical dance and ancient literary and mythological texts is an added area of interest. She is extremely passionate about doing her further studies in these fields, and is working towards the same via extensive reading of literature andanalysis of her own and others’ performances with a critical eye.
