Suparna Mondal

Bio-Note

My name is Suparna Mondal. I am presently studying MA in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University. I have completed my BA with Bangla honours from Visvabharati. I have co-translated Rabindranath Tagore’s essay ‘Meghdut’ from ‘Pracheen Sahitya’ which is published by Visvabharati. Another essay from ‘Adhunik Sahitya’ I co-translated, is about to be published. I have also worked as a translator of Sabyasachi Bhattacharya’s book ‘The Defining Moments in Bengal 1920-1947’ with Oxford University Press India. I have done a certificate course on ‘Translation as a skill’ from Centre for Translation of Indian Literatures(CENTIL), Jadavpur University. I have also attended various translation workshops and indulged in serious practice of translation.
